While tossing tissues or trash out of car windows has sadly become a common habit, this driver took things to a whole new level, turning an already bad behaviour into something even worse.
M’sian caught dumping durian skins onto road
A short clip posted on TikTok by @emat1351, showed someone allegedly tossing durian skin onto the road from a Proton Saga in Kota Bharu, Kelantan has sparked a wave of public outrage.
The clip shows a Proton Saga halted at a red light, while durian skins litter the road beside it. Minutes earlier, the passenger from the Saga is believed to have dropped the rind out of the window, as it showed his hand gesturing as if he threw out something.
“You eat the Durian and throw it everywhere in the city, do you think it’s the back of your house?” the OP added in the caption.
You can actually be fined or jailed for this
For those who may not know, throwing rubbish out of a moving or stationary vehicle isn’t just inconsiderate, it’s a punishable offence in Malaysia.
Under Malaysian law, littering from vehicles is no joke. The offence falls under Rule 52 of the Kaedah‑Kaedah Lalu Lintas Jalan 1959 and Section 119(2) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Penalties include fines up to RM2,000 or six months in jail for a first offence. Repeat offenders could face fines up to RM4,000, six months in jail, or both
