Two of Malaysia’s most recognisable sports and entertainment venues, where we always watch concerts or tournaments, have officially been given new names.
In a press release dated today, Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia (PSM) announced a naming rights partnership with Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) involving Bukit Jalil National Stadium and Axiata Arena, also known as Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil.

Following the collaboration, the two venues will now be known as TM Stadium Nasional and Unifi Arena respectively.
Partnership to last 3 years
According to PSM, the partnership will span an initial three years and is part of efforts to ensure both venues remain relevant, comfortable, and competitive in hosting major sports and entertainment events.
PSM said the collaboration is also meant to support the long-term sustainability and development of the two venues, which have long been regarded as major spaces where Malaysians gather for historic sporting moments, concerts, and national celebrations.
Its chief executive officer Iliyas Jamil said the organisation is committed to maintaining both venues at a high standard for the public.
He added that the naming rights partnership is part of a long-term initiative to strengthen the sustainability and future development of the stadiums.
The press release also stated that the rebranding took effect on March 6, meaning that Stadium Nasional has officially been renamed TM Stadium Nasional, while Stadium Putra is now known as Unifi Arena.
PSM also said proceeds from the collaboration will be channelled towards further improvements and enhancements to both stadiums in order to provide a better experience for visitors.
TM says venues have long united Malaysians
TM group chief executive officer Amar Huzaimi Md Deris said TM is honoured to be entrusted with the naming rights of the two iconic national venues.

He said both stadiums have long served as gathering places where Malaysians come together to cheer, celebrate, and witness historic achievements.
Through the collaboration, TM said it hopes to further enhance the venues so they can continue to unite communities and inspire national pride for generations to come.
For many Malaysians, both Stadium Nasional Bukit Jalil and Axiata Arena hold sentimental value, having played host to countless memorable events over the years.
With the new branding now in place, visitors can expect the two venues to enter a new chapter under their new names.
