Malaysian artist Namewee has spoken out after being linked to the sudden death of Taiwanese influencer and former nurse known as “Nurse Goddess”, vehemently denying online allegations that he was involved in drugs or supplied any to the late creator.
The 41-year-old took to Instagram yesterday (Nov 2) with a statement addressing rumours that surfaced after Taiwanese media reported the influencer had died in Malaysia.
‘I didn’t take drugs. I only drank alcohol’
In his post, Namewee said he was “extremely frustrated” after seeing news headlines dragging his name into the case.
He insisted he has never taken drugs nor carried any illegal substances, adding that the worst he has done recently was “drink a little too much”.
Believe if you want. If you don’t want to believe, then don’t. The truth will be revealed once the police release their report.
That’ll take at least two or three months.”
Namewee said he did not respond to the rumours earlier because the case was still under investigation and he was told not to comment.
He also claimed that in the past few days, he had been targeted by people attempting to blackmail him.
“If you want to continue playing this game, we’ll go all the way to the bottom.”
Expressed condolences for influencer’s passing
He also reacted to the influencer’s sudden death, expressing sadness and frustration over how long an ambulance allegedly took to arrive.
Taiwanese influencer Iris Hsieh, known as the ‘Nurse Goddess’, reportedly collapsed and died in Malaysia while on a shoot.
