Malaysian artist Namewee (Wee Meng Chee) has finally spoken out after being released from a 9-day police custody which he described as his longest and most intense lockup experience to date.

He shared his ordeal on Facebook, revealing that during the first two days alone, he was questioned by six different police teams, with each session lasting over 8 hours — the longest being 15 hours.
Faced multiple high-level investigation teams
According to Namewee, the teams involved included the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), D9 Serious Crimes Unit, D.W. Lokap lockup unit, D.W. Narcotics Division, Royal Narcotics Division, and even a special task force personally assigned by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP).
They used various methods to cross-examine my statements and adopted advanced tech tools to process detailed investigations,” he wrote, calling the entire process “thorough and professional.”
Shares details of the case
Namewee also recounted the incident, stating that it was an experience that left a deep emotional impact on him.”

It was the first time I saw someone die in front of me. I tried everything I could to help, but it was too late. That scene will stay in my mind forever,” he said.
Urges end to online hate
At the end of his post, Namewee called on the public to stop cyberbullying victims, regardless of their profession.
Please don’t attack victims online anymore. Occupation does not define human worth,” he urged.
