Datuk Mohd Nizar Najib, the son of former Prime Minister Najib Razak, made a striking appearance at a Chinese New Year event by dressing up as a Qing Dynasty emperor.
His attire symbolized his message of unity and cultural appreciation.

In a Facebook post, Nizar shared that he and his wife attended the Closing Ceremony of the 2025 Chinese New Year Festival Programme on behalf of Pahang’s Menteri Besar, YAB Dato’ Sri Diraja Haji Wan Rosdy bin Wan Ismail.
The event was organized by the Kuantan Chinese Opera Arts Association.

Prominent figures such as YB Tuan Sim Chon Siang, Chairman of the Pahang State Consumer Affairs and Human Resources Committee, and YB Puan Leong Yu Man, Chairman of the Pahang State Unity, Tourism, and Cultural Committee, were also in attendance.

At the end of the post, Nizar expressed his hopes for Pahang to remain harmonious and free from divisive elements.
May the state of Pahang remain harmonious and be protected from harmful elements that could divide our multiracial community here.
He also extended Chinese New Year greetings to all.
His post, featuring him in traditional Chinese imperial attire, garnered mixed reactions online, with some praising his embrace of multiculturalism while others debated the significance of his choice of costume.
