In the hustle and bustle of Eid preparations, the quest for the perfect attire often takes centre stage. This year, however, a surprising twist has emerged in the narrative of Eid clothing shopping, one that speaks volumes about affordability and compassion.
With that said, people are realising that baju raya (Eid clothes) are more expensive this year. Because of this, some of them are choosing not to buy new clothes and are wearing ones they already have.
Affordable finds: RM5 baju raya at Mydin Meru, Ipoh

But then, a TikTok user named @abdulazimbinabdulilah shared a video that caught everyone’s attention. He couldn’t believe his eyes when he found baju raya selling for just RM5!
Where? At Mydin Meru Ipoh supermarket. Even though the offer didn’t include trousers, it was still an amazing discovery.

What sets this revelation apart is not merely the affordability of the clothing but the story behind it.
@abdulazimbinabdulilah was quick to clarify that his video was not a sponsored review but rather a genuine attempt to share valuable information with the public.
Working at Mydin Meru Ipoh, he stumbled upon this treasure trove of affordable baju raya attire, prompting him to spread the word.
‘It is something to be thankful for’
People had different reactions to the news, showing a range of opinions. Some were thankful to Mydin for offering affordable baju raya, while others worried about the quality.
But despite these differences, there was one thing everyone agreed on: empathy.

One person summed it up well, saying, “Some worry about the quality, but for those who are less fortunate, just having new clothes is something to be thankful for.”

Another person shared a similar thought, saying, “Just because we can afford expensive items, we should not belittle those who are less fortunate. Remember, everything we possess is a blessing from God. Let us not succumb to arrogance.”
