On Tuesday (July 15), we reported of a Myanmar student named Sithu Hpone Maw, who was last seen at his rented condo in Taman Connaught, Cheras on July 9.
Unfortunately, an update regarding his whereabouts was one of tragedy following the private university’s post about the incident.
‘May he rest in peace’
In a Facebook post by University College Sedaya International (UCSI) yesterday (July 13), it confirmed Sithu’s passing, saying that it was in mourning over his untimely demise.

“We mourn the passing of Sithu Hpone Maw, a valued member of the UCSI community. Sithu will be fondly remembered for his spirit, dedication, and the happiness he brought to those around him.
“We stand in solidarity with his family, friends, and loved ones during this time of profound loss. We also empathise with the Myanmar community on campus as we mourn this tragic loss together. May he rest in peace,” the post read.
However, it wasn’t revealed what was the cause for Sithu’s death.
Previously, it was reported that Sithu, Â a second-year student pursuing a degree in architecture, had gone missing from his rented residence in Ankasa Condo, prompting a police search for his whereabouts.
