For most Malaysians, keeping ourselves financially afloat is considered a big challenge in itself, especially now that the cost of living isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
Against this backdrop, a Myanmar couple recently wowed many with their story of how they managed to earn a very lucrative income just by selling wantan noodles alone.

Myanmar couple rakes in 5-figure salary by selling noodles
In a Facebook post shared by a woman named Chin Hui in the group 我来自甲洞(大马帮), she wrote that she was having a conversation with a Myanmar couple who ran a wantan mee stall in KL.
During the conversation, she found out that the couple were able to send their daughter to a private school in Segambut, which cost them RM1,550 monthly.
Aside from that, they also rent an apartment unit for RM1,700 a month and spend another RM1,600 in rent for the stall to run their wantan mee business six days a week.
When Chin asked how much they earned per month, the Myanmar couple responded by saying their salary was a 5-figure amount. However, they didn’t reveal the exact figure.

Upon hearing their story, Chin was deeply impressed by their accomplishment and encouraged Malaysians to follow their example.
“I hope everyone will continue to do their best. If foreign workers are able to do so, so can we!” she wrote.
Netizens impressed
In the comment section, netizens were amazed by how much the Myanmar couple earned just by selling noodles.
‘While it has been said before on the Internet, as long as you’re willing to work hard and not do anything illegal in Malaysia, you’d have no problems providing for your meals and accommodation.’

‘Time for me change career and sell wantan mee.’

‘Resolution for the new year 2025. Keep it up!’
