Two months after losing her daughter in the tragic Bandar Utama school incident, the victim’s mother has once again taken to social media to share her grief, gratitude, and renewed call for justice.
In a heartfelt post, Yap Shing Xuen’s mother thanked relatives, friends, teachers, classmates, and members of the public who have stood by her family during what she described as the darkest period of their lives.
She said the support and concern shown towards her late daughter had brought some comfort, even as the pain of loss remains.
She described her daughter as a warm, kind-hearted and cheerful girl who loved to smile, care for others, and live life with enthusiasm.
While those smiles now live only in memories, the mother said her daughter was taken away at the youngest and most vulnerable stage of her life, leaving a pain that words cannot fully describe.
Every time I think of her, my heart feels like it’s being torn apart,” she wrote.
Next court date confirmed for Dec 19
In the same post, Yap’s mother revealed that the next court session is scheduled for Dec 19, during which the court is expected to officially release the psychological evaluation report of the accused.
She stressed that the family will continue pursuing the truth, justice, and accountability, not just for her daughter, but for the safety of all children.
“No parent should have to endure this pain. No child should ever experience such suffering.”
Yap’s mother expressed hope that the tragedy would serve as a wake-up call for society to pay closer attention, reflect deeply, and prevent similar incidents from happening again.
“People may not know, but heaven knows. Justice lives in the hearts of the people, and time will eventually give its answer.”
