Residents of an apartment in Bayan Lepas, Penang, were shaken to their core after a woman named Xie Siwei (transliteration) reportedly fell to her death on Wednesday night (Sept 3), causing her body to split apart.
Following her tragic passing, her family members proceeded to handle her funeral arrangements. However, her mother was unable to accept the fact that her daughter was no longer around that she was rushed to the hospital.
Funeral arrangements handled by uncle
Several reporters from China Press went to the Penang Hospital’s mortuary and saw that Xie’s uncle and another family member was there to claim her body.
Once Xie’s body was released, no wake or funeral rites were held but it was immediately sent to the Batu Gantung Crematorium for cremation.

When interviewed by reporters, Xie’s uncle said he had not been in contact with Xie’s mother for the past 20 years and was unaware of what had been going on within the family.
He added Xie’s mother was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) and is still receiving treatment, adding that he believes it was caused by intense grief over losing her only daughter.
Xie’s uncle also revealed that his brother-in-law had passed away in June of this year, leaving Xie to live with her mother while unemployed.

What happened so far
Xie plunged from the 28th floor of her apartment at around 9.10pm on Wednesday. Following her death, police investigations found that she had been under mental distress after her boyfriend broke up with her.
Her mother told police that Xie was five months pregnant at the time of her passing.
However, Southwest district police chief Assistant Commissioner Sazalee Adam said an autopsy found no evidence of Xie being pregnant at all.
