Yesterday, we reported of the horrifying accident that took place in Klang, where 33-year-old Amirul Hafiz Omar was sent flying into the air before he landed on a Myvi and subsequently died.
He was laid to rest at the Kampung Repoh Islamic Cemetery in Batu Kurau and is survived by his wife and three children aged 9, 7, and 2 respectively.
Spent Raya with victim
Following the tragedy, reporters spoke to Amirul’s mother Faridah Ahmad, who was inconsolable over her eldest son’s passing.
According to her, she spent several days at Amirul’s house in Shah Alam to celebrate Raya, where he prepared a sumptuous meal for the family.

“I stayed at his house for three days and he cooked meat curry for us. He was also in his usual cheerful self and loved cracking jokes with family members,” she recounted.
However, nothing could have prepared Faridah for the words that would come out of her son’s mouth later.
Haunted by last words
Faridah said that Amirul took a group photo with his wife and kids before making the following remark:
One day, I’ll appear on TV.”
“I thought he was joking, but it seemed like a sign of things to come.

“He hugged me, asked for forgiveness, and sought my blessings for everything. I told him I accept it as he was a good son,” she added.
‘I accept his passing’
Though deeply grieved by Amirul’s untimely death, Faridah said she accepts the tragedy as God’s will.
“I was very shocked when my daughter-in-law called to say that he was gone. But I accept it. At least during the festive period, I had the chance to spend time with him.”

She also described Amirul as a dedicated and responsible father who always thought about his family’s needs, including his children.
The Honda City driver, who rammed into Amirul and caused his death, has been remanded for four days and tested positive for drugs and alcohol.

Amirul’s death has sparked widespread anger online, with Malaysians and politicians calling for harsher punishments for drivers who kill innocent bystanders while intoxicated or high on drugs.
