Malaysians with Singapore driving licences will soon be able to utilise RON95 fuel priced at RM1.99 per litre for their Malaysian-registered cars.
This decision came after many Malaysians working across the Causeway voiced frustration about being left out of the Budi95 subsidy programme.
New policy for M’sians working in SG
The Budi95 scheme, which is scheduled to be fully rolled out by Sept 30, will see Malaysians being able to purchase RON95 at the fully subsidised price of RM1.99 per litre, while foreigners will have to pay RM2.60 per litre.

Since the Budi95 scheme links eligibility to a valid MyKad and Malaysian driving licence, this means those who converted their licences to Singaporean ones for work purposes were automatically excluded.
According to China Press, Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the government was aware of the problem and is working to rectify it.
He shared that many Malaysians who drive daily into Singapore had no choice but to obtain Singapore licences, and were unintentionally left out due to unlinked systems.

To address the issue, the government will introduce a registration process that will allow affected Malaysians to apply and be included into the Budi95 scheme.
However, further details are expected to be announced next week.
