M’sians Will Enjoy RM100 One-Off Aid & Extra Public Holiday On Sept 15

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has officially unveiled the long-awaited “Penghargaan Rakyat” (Appreciation for the People) initiative during a live announcement at 10:30 AM today, fulfilling his earlier promise of a special gesture for Malaysians.

The announcement, which had been teased by Anwar as “extraordinary,” is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to ease the rakyat’s financial burden.

At around 10:45 AM today, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim officially delivered on his promise of a “special appreciation” for the rakyat through a national address streamed live on social media platforms.

One-off RM100 credit

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has announced that every Malaysian aged 18 and above will receive a RM100 one-off credit under the new “SARA Untuk Semua” initiative, in celebration of Hari Kebangsaan.

  • 🛒 Usable at over 4,100 stores
  • 📅 Valid from 31 August to 31 December 2025

Described as a gesture of appreciation for all Malaysians, the aid does not require applications and will be available to everyone regardless of income.

Extra public holiday on 15 September 2025

In celebration of Hari Malaysia, the government has declared Monday, 15 September 2025 as an additional public holiday.

It’s introduced as a gesture of appreciation for national unity and togetherness, giving Malaysians a long weekend to reflect, relax, and celebrate the spirit of Malaysia.

No Toll Hike for 2025

The government will absorb over RM500 million in compensation to prevent toll rate increases on 10 major highways, which were originally scheduled to go up this year under existing concession agreements.

This move aims to ease financial pressure on road users and maintain affordability for everyday travel.

Electricity Bills Reduced for 85% of Users

Beginning this month, 85% of electricity users will see a reduction in their bills of up to 14%, thanks to a restructured electricity tariff system.

This change is expected to provide noticeable savings for households and small businesses, easing monthly utility burdens.

RON95 Petrol Price Drops

Thanks to a targeted fuel subsidy, the price of RON95 petrol has been reduced to RM1.99 per litre for the rakyat.

  • This subsidy benefits over 18 million Malaysians, including:
    • Motorcycle riders
    • Car drivers
    • Gig economy workers (e.g. delivery riders, e-hailing drivers)

The move aims to make petrol more affordable for everyday Malaysians while ensuring subsidies go to those who need it most.
