Motorists who were mistakenly charged the unsubsidised price for RON95 due to technical glitches at petrol stations can now recover the difference, says Deputy Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh.
She said the Budi Madani RON95 (Budi95) programme has been running smoothly nationwide since it was introduced on Tuesday, Oct 7, 2025, with only “a few minor glitches” that were resolved quickly.
“There were some complaints, such as system outages, but it was managed speedily. However, if motorists ended up paying unsubsidised RON95 prices as a result, they may file for a claim,” she said.

Who can claim
- Individuals and businesses who paid the unsubsidised price for RON95 due to system issues.
- Purchases must be made between Sept 30 and Oct 31, 2025.
- Claims must be supported by proof of purchase (RON95 receipts).

How to claim
- Go to mysubsidi.kpdn.gov.my starting Oct 9, 2025.
- Submit your claim with receipt copies showing the RON95 purchase.
- Businesses must also:
- Register under the Subsidised Petrol Control Scheme (SKPS), and
- Show proof they applied for a fleet card on or before Oct 31, 2025.
Payout timeline: Upon verification and approval, refunds will be credited to the applicant’s bank account within 15 working days.
Low SKPS sign-ups so far
Fuziah disclosed that registration for subsidised petrol under SKPS has been lukewarm, with only about 25% of eligible businesses registered to date.
The ministry is engaging groups such as taxi associations to accelerate sign-ups.
Those who register late can still claim backdated subsidies from Oct 1, 2025, provided they produce receipts.
Enforcement reminder
Foreign vehicles are not allowed to fill up with subsidised RON95. The public is urged to report violations to the ministry.
