Whenever we go out for a meal, we would at least expect that the portion and pricing would be in tandem with each other. Alas, this is becoming rarer as food costs continue to soar.
Netizens were left shocked and scratching their heads after a photo of a plate of macaroni and cheese went viral for all the wrong reasons on social media.
RM16 for mac and cheese?!
In the photo posted by the Facebook page GAGS Malaysia, it featured a plate of macaroni that had a slice of melted cheese slapped right on top of it, along with a sprinkle of herbs.

According to the caption, the meal cost RM16 and was sold at a food court in Putrajaya.
However, it did not specify which precinct the food court was located at as Putrajaya houses food courts across several districts within the federal territory.
‘Is this pet food?’
To absolutely no one’s surprise, the photo didn’t sit well with netizens, who proceeded to crack jokes over the mac and cheese’s appearance as well as its pricing.
‘Is this wet food (for pets)?’

‘B40 appearance, T20 capitalist pricing.’

‘Meanwhile, I can cook this on my own with less than RM5.’

One even tagged Putrajaya Corporations, the entity that manages food courts within the federal territory, in the comments and jokingly asked whether they had tried the mac and cheese for themselves.
