M’sians Say They’re Grateful For Current Egg & Food Prices Amid Global Crisis

Thank you Madani.
As global tensions continue to raise concerns about rising costs, some Malaysians are taking a different perspective, choosing to be grateful that basic food prices remain relatively stable.

A Threads post recently went viral after a user pointed out that despite being in a “crisis”, the prices of essential items such as eggs are still considered under control.

The user also reflected on a past remark where eggs were labelled as “food for the poor”, sharing that during more difficult times, they relied heavily on eggs as an affordable source of protein.

“Thank you Madani,” the post read.

One user claimed that cooking oil once exceeded RM50 for a 5kg bottle, describing the situation back then as especially tough.

Mixed reactions, but many choosing gratitude

While opinions varied, a number of Malaysians shared that compared to previous periods of sharp price increases and shortages, the current situation feels more manageable.
