A simple moment at a bus stop has unexpectedly made many Malaysians feel proud.

Recently, political cartoonist Zulkiflee Anwar Haque shared a photo on Threads showing a long line of commuters patiently queueing to board a Rapid KL bus near the LRT Universiti station.

Even though the queue was lengthy, everyone was seen calmly waiting their turn without pushing, cutting the line, or creating chaos.

Most commuters quietly stood in line while scrolling through their phones as they waited for the bus to arrive.

Netizens praise Malaysians for being disciplined

In his post, Zunar praised the behaviour shown by the commuters, saying the culture of queueing among Malaysians deserves recognition.

The culture of queueing while waiting for buses among some Malaysians deserves praise,” he wrote.

The post quickly caught the attention of netizens, many of whom said Malaysians are actually more disciplined than people give them credit for.

One woman commented:

“Alhamdulillah, Malaysians are actually very disciplined.”

Others pointed out that queue culture has long been taught in schools from a young age, which may explain why many Malaysians naturally line up in public spaces.

“We were taught to queue since primary school before entering class, labs, and even when buying food at the canteen. Malaysians are organised and systematic!” another user wrote.

Some also joked that teachers who constantly reminded students to queue properly would probably feel proud seeing the viral photo.

“Teachers really didn’t waste their breath telling us to queue 30 times a day,” one netizen joked.

“Not everyone knows how to queue”

While some people may think lining up properly is a small thing, many online pointed out that not everyone has the patience or discipline to do it, especially during busy hours.

Several users also hoped this kind of behaviour could become more common at other crowded public transport areas in Kuala Lumpur.

One Threads user shared that situations at certain hotspots can sometimes become chaotic when people rush forward the moment bus doors open.
