It was supposed to be a relaxing treat, but for a group of Malaysians, it’s now a costly nightmare.
Over 1,000 customers across five states are believed to have lost a combined RM500,000 after the wellness centre where they made the booking suddenly closed all 28 of its outlets.

According to Kosmo!, more than 1,000 customers were left stunned after discovering that a health and beauty centre they had bought massage packages from had suddenly ceased operations without warning
The centre, which operated 28 branches across Johor, Selangor, Melaka, Penang, and Kuala Lumpur, was shut down since May 1.
However, customers had already purchased packages priced between RM2,400 and RM10,000, with the total losses estimated to be around RM500,000 prior to the closure.
No warning, just excuses
According to Heng Zhi Li, Head of the Public Complaints and Services Bureau of MCA Youth, customers began noticing something was off when their attempts to book appointments were repeatedly met with excuses.

What’s heartbreaking is that the business owner didn’t inform anyone about the closure,” he said during a press conference at the MCA building in Johor.
Throughout April, the centre reportedly told customers that there were no available slots. Then suddenly, they were told the business had shut down due to “insufficient cash flow and lack of staff.”
Over 50 police reports filed
So far, 54 individuals have stepped forward to lodge police reports, but the number of affected customers is believed to be much higher.
Heng, who is also Johor MCA Youth Chief, said the packages had appealed to customers due to their attractive prices and the flexibility to redeem them at any of the centre’s branches.
