M’sians Mock Newly-Installed Metal Benches At KLIA That Claim To Give ‘Enhanced Comfort’

Very comfy indeed.
If you’re a frequent traveller, the one thing you’d look for at airports are comfortable seating areas for you to rest after a long journey.

This was exactly what Malaysia Airports tried to do in a bid to cater to travellers looking for a place to sit by installing new metal benches, only to have it backfire horribly on them.

New metal benches placed at KLIA

In a Facebook post shared by Malaysia Airports last Friday (Oct 11), it featured two photos showing several new metal benches being installed on Level 1 of the Transportation Hub at KLIA.

However, unlike most benches, they were simply made up of three metal pipes with curved corners and didn’t have a backrest for travellers to lean against.

In the caption, Malaysia Airports hailed the benches as “one of the many exciting upgrades at KLIA” and hyped it up as a comfortable amenity for travellers.

The newly revamped seating area on Level 1 of the Transportation Hub now provides travellers with enhanced comfort and extra space while they wait for their transport. Experience a more enjoyable journey as you continue on your way!”

‘How is this comfortable?’

Unfortunately, netizens weren’t convinced by the ‘comfiness’ of the metal benches and proceeded to heap scorn on them in the comment section.

‘How (is) sitting on metal bars can enhance comfort?’

One netizen suggested that Malaysia Airports put its ‘enhanced comfort’ claim to the test by making the MPs sit on the metal benches in Parliament.

Another lamented that the benches reflected the ‘low quality’ of work done in Malaysia, adding that the aerotrain at KLIA has yet to be fixed to this day.
