For most toilets, there would often be a tiny symbol depicting which one is for female or male use clearly.
However, an ice-cream shop believed to be located in Kota Kemuning, Selangor, is causing much confusion among netizens after a photo showing its toilet signs went viral on social media.
Toilet sign featuring a cloud and triangle?
In a photo shared by an X user named @danieleskay, it showed two bathroom doors which had an unconventional sign on it, unlike the ones that most are accustomed to.
On the left, the sign had a cloud symbol on top of an isosceles triangle while on the right, the cloud symbol was on top of an inverted isosceles triangle.
Aside from the sign, even the door handles were different too, where one had a knob while the other had a lever.
The OP couldn’t help but to laugh over the peculiar signage, where he wrote in the caption: ‘Ah yes, the two genders: ice cream and cloud on a hill.’
‘Which is which?’
Naturally, the toilet sign sent netizens spinning as they struggled to decipher which symbol was for which gender.
‘Life’s already full of problems and now we have to figure out which side to go into before we pee.’
‘Shii my overthinking will have me standing there for 30 minutes just to decide which door should I open.’
A netizen joked that the men’s toilet is the one on the left as “women are always right”. *ba tum tss*
Still as confused as them? Here’s the answer to the riddle:
Like the circles and triangles often used to depict the human head and body, the cloud and triangle symbol are meant to mimic those.
As such, the one with the cloud symbol on top of an isosceles triangle is for women, while the cloud symbol was on top of an inverted isosceles triangle is for men.
