They departed JB at 2pm and by 7pm had only made it as far as Jasin, Melaka, despite hours already spent on the road.
Another shared that after seven hours on the road, she still had not reached KL, describing the drive as nothing but jam after jam.

Traffic jam in both directions
Many commenters pointed out that the congestion was not limited to one direction.
Some said traffic was equally bad heading from KL to JB, while others described heavy jams on both sides of the highway, especially near exits and toll areas.

Photos and videos shared online showed long lines of vehicles barely moving, with cars packed tightly for kilometres.
Among the comments, some expressed sympathy for bus drivers and passengers who had little choice but to endure the long hours.
One user said bus drivers were particularly affected as they had to keep going despite being stuck for hours, often without proper rest, just to make a living.
Others joked that planning a trip during festive periods now required serious strategy and strong mental endurance.
‘The price of a long weekend’
Several users shared tips such as leaving as early as 5am or using inner roads to avoid the worst of the jam, though many admitted there was no guaranteed solution during peak holiday periods.

In response to the complaints, one commenter summed it up simply by calling it the price of a long weekend.
For many Malaysians, the post Christmas drive served as a reminder that festive breaks often end not with rest, but with sore backs, numb legs, and very real butt pain.
