M’sians Can Replace Damaged MyKad For Free Starting Today Until Oct 7

Offer lasts for 2 weeks only.
The Home Ministry has announced that Malaysians with damaged MyKads can get them replaced for free at all National Registration Department (JPN) offices nationwide from Sept 23 to Oct 7, 2025.

This initiative is part of the government’s effort to make sure everyone can fully benefit from the BUDI95 targeted RON95 petrol subsidy without being blocked by faulty MyKads.

Initiative aims to ensure subsidy access

According to the ministry, there has been a surge in MyKad replacement requests in recent months.

Between January and August 2025, JPN received 294,715 applications for MyKad replacements under the damaged chip/card category, with numbers rising sharply in the past three months.

Entire cost covered by the government

The replacement programme will be fully funded by the MADANI government, with an estimated RM714,660 allocated to ensure the process runs smoothly and people don’t lose access to fuel subsidies because of technical issues with their MyKad.

Simply bring your damaged MyKad to any JPN counter during the campaign period.

No fees, no hidden costs — just a straight swap to make sure your card works perfectly for subsidy verification and other essential services.
