Last year, Mothership wrote a touching story of a man named Muhamad Faiz standing at a jetty at the Woodlands Waterfront Park and waving to his family in Johor across the water, bringing many readers to tears.
He was unable to reunite with his family because of the closing of the Johor-Singapore Causeway due to the pandemic.
According to Singaporean media, Faiz was finally reunited with his family this Ramadhan despite the geographical distance. Thanks to McDonald’s My Happy Table initiative, he broke fast with his family virtually on Monday (April 26).
Faiz dined at a McDonald’s outlet in Canberra Plaza while his family was at a Taman Desa Tebrau outlet.

“I’m really grateful to McDonald’s for this initiative to allow me to break fast and spend time with my family,” he said.

My Happy Table is a campaign organized by McDonald’s Singapore to bring families who have been separated by the pandemic together through virtual means.
