How we treat others often says more about us than we realise, yet instances of unequal treatment based on wealth or status still happen all too often.
One such incident recently went viral after a woman shared her disappointing experience with a roadside cheese chicken seller who allegedly prioritised customers driving luxury cars over those with humble vehicles.
The woman, accompanied by her husband, claimed that they were made to wait 45 minutes for their order while other customers in high-end cars were served promptly.

According to Mstar, she recounted the upsetting ordeal, which began when they stopped by the roadside stall to purchase cheese-coated fried chicken.
“The cheese chicken costs RM1 each. My husband went down to order 10 pieces. The husband-and-wife sellers told him the chicken wasn’t ready yet. So, my husband said we’d come back in 30 minutes,” she explained.
The couple decided to run errands while waiting and returned 30 minutes later, only to find two luxury cars parked near the stall.
To their surprise, the occupants of the cars were already holding bags of fried chicken, despite arriving after them.
When her husband approached the sellers to check on their order, he was told it still wasn’t ready.
Feeling suspicious, the couple stayed in their car to observe the sellers’ behaviour.
“We just sat there and watched. It seemed like they were deliberately delaying our order,” she wrote.
Adding to their frustration, they noticed other customers, who arrived after them, being served almost immediately.
Finally, her husband decided he’d had enough and demanded a refund for the RM10 they had paid earlier.
“We felt so disappointed. My husband went back and asked for our money. I sat in the car, watching everything, feeling hurt by how we were treated. They returned the money when he asked.
“It was so unfair. We had already paid and waited patiently. But just because we were driving an old Kancil, they treated us poorly. When luxury cars pulled up, the service was smooth and fast. It really hurt.”
The woman shared that a few weeks after the incident, she noticed the stall was no longer in operation, leading her to believe that the sellers had shut down their business.
In her post, she reflected on the experience and left a heartfelt reminder about the importance of treating everyone equally, regardless of their appearance or status.
“In this world, if you drive a luxury car or dress well and fancy, people treat you like royalty. But if you drive an old Kancil or look simple, people look down on you.
“Let’s all be careful in how we treat others. Don’t hurt people with our behaviour. It may seem small, but it can leave lasting effects on others and even our own future.”
