A Malaysian woman recently share her frustration after her husband landed a job overseas with a salary four times higher than his current pay.
While many would see the offer as a blessing for the family, she revealed that there was one major issue. Her husband does not want her and their children to move with him.

Asked to stay in Malaysia with the kids
The woman explained that her husband cited the high cost of living overseas as the main reason for his decision. He was also concerned about their children who are still schooling.
“My husband got a job offer overseas. The salary is four times higher, but he won’t let his wife and kids follow him.
“He’s worried expenses are expensive there because the kids are still in school. He told me to stay in Malaysia and manage the children. He’ll just send money,” she wrote.
Instead, he suggested that she remain in Malaysia to take care of the children while he works abroad and sends money home every month, similar to other couples in long distance marriages.
Struggling with the thought of handling everything alone

However, the woman admitted that she does not feel capable of raising the children on her own while juggling a full time job.
Reported by mStar, the woman shared that she had considered quitting her job to become a full time housewife, as she felt overwhelmed at the thought of managing parenting responsibilities alone.
When I said I wanted to become a housewife because I can’t manage the children alone while working, he didn’t agree and questioned why I want to quit my job,” she said.
Financial gain but emotional cost
While the overseas offer promises a significant financial boost, the arrangement has left the woman feeling upset and conflicted.
For her, the issue is not just about money. It is about partnership, shared responsibilities, and whether a higher salary is worth living apart as a family.
