A viral story on social media has taken an unexpected turn after a Malaysian woman who sought help to rescue her stranded husband in Hatyai, Thailand discovered that he had allegedly been sharing a room with a female colleague throughout the trip.
According to mStar, shared by a Malaysian woman, she was privately contacted by a wife who claimed her husband had been unreachable after being trapped in flood-hit Hatyai with his colleagues.
Wife contacted stranger for help after failing to reach husband
The worried wife asked if anyone could help locate him, saying her young children were at home waiting for their father.
A wife messaged me asking for help. Her husband was trapped in Hatyai with a colleague and she begged us to rescue him first because their children are still small and keep looking for him,” the woman wrote.
She added that her late mother was originally from the area, and she still has cousins and an aunt living in Hatyai, which made her feel responsible to check on the situation.
What she found shocked her
Using her family members in Hatyai to verify the husband’s location, the woman claimed they uncovered a surprising detail, the man had allegedly been staying in the same hotel room as his colleague during their four-day trip.
The colleague, she claimed, was not another man but a woman.
After checking, it turns out the ‘colleague’ was a woman and they had been sharing a room for four days,” she revealed.

The discovery left netizens stunned, especially given that the wife had reached out desperately for help believing her husband was in danger.
She later posted a reminder directed at men, writing:
Men, please have mercy on your wives and children at home. If you have no shame before people, at least have shame before God.”
The woman clarified that she did not share the story for publicity but as a reminder to other wives not to place blind trust in their spouses.
She added that she herself had just returned from Hatyai after facing the same flood situation, describing the severity of the conditions there.
