Travelling home for Hari Raya is always special, but one Malaysian woman took it to the next level—bringing along her two adorable sugar gliders for the journey!
Recently, a video went viral showing a Malaysian woman on a bus ride home for Raya with her two sugar gliders.

Shared by TikTok user @ainafrz__, the clip quickly caught netizens’ attention. The video showed the tiny creatures comfortably tucked inside a bag, which was hung on the back of a seat, while their owner kept a water bottle close by to keep them hydrated.
She even captioned the video, “Just a student bringing back all her emotional support pets for Hari Raya.”
A long but worthwhile journey

Speaking exclusively to WeirdKaya, the woman shared that she was travelling back from Kuala Lumpur, where she is in her final year of university at UPTM KL.
Her sugar gliders, named Peanut and Shoyu, accompanied her on the nearly eight-hour journey to Jitra, Kedah.
Yes, they’re white-faced sugar gliders! I named one Peanut and the other Shoyu because when I first got Shoyu, she had a slightly darker shade. Oh, and both of them are female!” she said.
She explained that while they handled the journey well, she only recommends keeping sugar gliders in a travel carrier for a maximum of 12 hours, as they can get stressed.
Once they arrived at her hometown, she transferred them to a bigger cage to let them stretch and settle in.
Treats & travel tips
To make the trip enjoyable for her little companions, she prepared a special menu—cut-up fruits like pears and guavas, along with small treats.
Just like us, we need snacks for a long journey, right?” she joked.
As for hydration, she ensured they stayed refreshed by feeding them water with a spoon.
Her unique travel experience left netizens amused and impressed, with many praising her dedication to her beloved pets. Now, that’s what we call a Raya trip to remember!
