A recent post has gone viral, revealing a little-known fact about RapidKL’s service.
A woman shared a ‘train delay slip’ she received from a RapidKL employee, sparking curiosity among commuters who were unaware that such a thing even existed.
The revelation came from X user @_aidaans, who posted a photo of the train delay slip she obtained.
In her caption, she wrote, “Today I learned that RapidKL issues train delay certificates upon request. Here’s mine, retrieved due to this morning’s disruption.”
It appears her journey was affected by a delay on the Kelana Jaya line during her commute to work on 23rd May.
Many were surprised by this information, as it’s not widely known that RapidKL provides these slips to passengers who are delayed.
Curious to know more, WeirdKaya reached out to RapidKL for clarification.
When asked whether they indeed issue ‘late slips’ for commuters affected by MRT or LRT disruptions, a RapidKL representative confirmed that they do.
They explained that the slips are available if the delay exceeds 15 minutes, allowing passengers to have documented proof of the disruption.
The slip, as shared by the original poster on her X account, is applicable for four lines: the LRT Ampang/Sri Petaling Lines, the LRT Kelana Jaya Line, the KL Monorail Line, and the MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line.
So, did you know about this service? If this is news to you, what are your thoughts on it?
Well, it’s certainly an interesting way to support commuters who may face challenges at work due to unforeseen delays.
