While food prices have skyrocketed in recent years, one Malaysian woman has captured hearts for doing the exact opposite — keeping her cendol at just RM1, no matter how many toppings you add.
Known affectionately as “Kak Zah,” the 65-year-old vendor has been selling cendol at Jalan PJS/3 in Taman Medan, Petaling Jaya for the past 35 years.
“Add everything also RM1!”
But what recently pushed her into viral stardom was a TikTok video, which revealed her incredible pricing — just RM1 even if you add sticky rice, red beans, corn, and grass jelly.
In the video, a customer was visibly shocked when Kak Zah casually said, “Add all the toppings also RM1.”

The generous bowl was seen loaded with ingredients, prompting the customer to ask if there was even a profit margin left.
Kak Zah responded humbly, “Only when I sell more, then I get some profit.”
She also lovingly calls her customers sayang (darling), showing her warm and personal approach to business. When asked how she managed to sustain such prices, she said, “It’s still okay. If customers buy in large quantities, then I can earn.”
Netizens’ reaction
Amid rising costs of ingredients and inflation, Kak Zah’s unwavering commitment to affordable prices has struck a chord with Malaysians. Many took to the comments praising her for her honesty and compassion, calling her a rare gem in today’s world.
“Kak, you can even sell it for RM3… we’ll still buy it… as long as you call us ‘sayang’ 🥺🥺🥺”

“WHATTT! That makcik (aunty) calls people ‘sayanggg’ (darling) – I have to go!”

“Selling for only RM1, so humble, and even warmly calls customers ‘sayang’… where can you find a seller like this nowadays 😭”
