A Malaysian woman recently shared her complicated story about love, regret, and an old friend who once stood by her during the toughest time of her life.

From love-struck to heartbroken
She admitted she used to be a typical “love-struck” girl. During her university years, she quickly got into a relationship with a foreign boyfriend.
Not long after, she found herself pregnant. He returned to his home country after graduation, leaving her to face the situation alone.
Far from home and with her parents unaware, she was lost and did not know where to turn. That was when she reconnected with a male friend she had once rejected.
He surprised her with his kindness. He would cook for her, pay her medical bills, accompany her to appointments, and take her to places she wanted to go. Slowly, she found comfort in his care.
But one day, she saw him chatting with another girl on campus. Out of anger, she cut ties with him completely.
He tried to reach out through mutual friends, but she ignored him. She assumed his care meant romantic interest, so seeing him with someone else felt like betrayal.
Life moved on, but memories stayed
She eventually returned to her hometown, carried the pregnancy to full term, and gave birth with her family’s support. Life was hard, but she often remembered him and the way he used to make her laugh.
Five years later, fate brought them together again in KL. He was still as handsome as ever.
She wanted to talk to him, but then she noticed he already had a girlfriend, and she was beautiful. She quietly accepted the reality.
A twist of fate
Still, she gathered her courage to ask him out one day, only to be rejected.
But fate had other plans. Her young daughter started falling sick often, and she was overwhelmed caring for her alone. Desperate, she asked him for help.
To her surprise, he agreed. He would visit and even take them to the clinic when needed. Her daughter adored him, smiling the brightest whenever he was around.
Then came another twist. She discovered the doctor treating her daughter was actually his girlfriend. The girlfriend was professional and kind, giving her plenty of advice on childcare.
Feelings she cannot ignore
Despite everything, the woman admitted she looks forward to his visits. She dresses up before he comes, hoping for just a little more time with him.
But sometimes, he brings his girlfriend along too. Although she agrees, she secretly feels disappointed because she only wants to see him.
She confessed she cannot help but feel jealous when she sees them together, even though she knows she has no right to.
Recently, she overheard the girlfriend talking about throwing him a birthday celebration next month.
Now she is wondering if she should use the opportunity to reconnect with him by inviting him to celebrate at her house through her daughter.
But fear of rejection still holds her back.
“If you were me, how would you tell him how you feel?” she asked.
