A Malaysian woman claimed she was left heartbroken after discovering that her parents had convinced her to take a personal loan under the pretense of settling the family’s debts.
Wanting to help, she went ahead and applied for it without questioning their intentions.

Only found out after the loan was approved
Once the loan went through, she learned the truth. The money was not for debts at all. It was meant to pay for her younger brother’s wedding reception.

She said the betrayal hit harder because her father had personally begged her for help, making her believe the financial situation was real and urgent.
Father promised to repay her slowly
Reported by mStar, the woman said that her father claimed he would pay her back monthly, but only after deducting the amount from her salary.
He also assured her that he would eventually withdraw his EPF savings to settle the loan, although she said she was unsure if that promise would ever be fulfilled.
Still struggling to accept what happened

She admitted she could not easily accept being lied to, especially when the lie was made just to ease her brother’s expenses.
She added that she herself was not married and would never take a loan for a one day event, making the situation even harder to understand.
The woman said the incident left her deeply disappointed with her parents.
She shared that she felt taken advantage of by the very people she trusted most and was now unsure how to move forward after the deception.
