M’sian Woman Says Cashier Allegedly Laughed At Her For Using MySARA Aid To Buy Mineral Water

Why so pressed over mineral water?
A Malaysian woman has taken to Threads to share an uncomfortable experience she allegedly faced while using her MySARA aid at a convenience store in Kajang.

‘Just mineral water only?’

According to her, she was at the counter purchasing a bottle of mineral water using her SARA allocation.

As the cashier scanned the item, she was allegedly asked, “Just mineral water only?”

After confirming that it was her only purchase, the woman claimed the cashier then turned to a colleague and told the latter about her using MySARA aid for mineral water before laughing.

She described feeling judged in that moment, especially over something as basic as drinking water.

Still had balance left in her allocation

In her post, the woman clarified that she still had RM67.15 remaining from her RM100 allocation at the time of purchase.

The incident has since reignited discussions about empathy and respect, especially towards those who rely on assistance to get by.
