Losing a pet is a heartbreaking experience for any animal lover.
The search for a missing furry friend can feel endless, filled with false hopes and unanswered questions.
While many pet owners hold on to the faintest glimmer of hope, few expect a reunion years later.
M’sian woman reunites with lost cat after 2 Years

For one woman in Sabah, that seemingly impossible reunion became a reality when she unexpectedly found her long-lost cat, Jerry, more than two years after he vanished.
The emotional moment was captured in a viral TikTok video (@podedoshh), showing the white-and-orange cat at a local eatery.
Although Jerry appeared healthy, he was slightly scruffy, with a scar on his face, likely from an encounter with another cat.
Initially, the woman noticed his face resembled her missing pet. A closer look at her old photos confirmed it—the cat at the eatery was indeed Jerry.
The final piece of the puzzle fell into place when she spotted Jerry’s slightly bent tail, a distinctive feature she knew well.

“It turns out this is my cat who went missing for years, and I found him at an eatery. He still remembers his name, Jerry,” she shared, visibly emotional in the video.
She speculated that Jerry’s gentle nature might have made him vulnerable to being scratched by other cats.
Without hesitation, she brought him home, finally ending the years-long separation.
In a follow-up TikTok post, she revealed that Jerry had gone missing in 2022, shortly after the Movement Control Order (MCO) during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The video also captured a heartbreaking moment of Jerry drinking rainwater, possibly due to a lack of other water sources.
‘Why does your face look like my cat?’
Speaking to WeirdKaya, Jerry was no ordinary cat, he is gentle and affectionate, never aggressive toward other cats.

“He’s soft and manja (affectionate). He’s not the type to fight with other cats,” she shared.
The emotional journey began after the family moved into a newly renovated house next door to their previous home, following the end of the Movement Control Order (MCO).
“We didn’t move far, just next door, but maybe Jerry couldn’t recognise the scent of the new house. I think he thought we abandoned him,” she said.
Despite their best efforts to find Jerry, calling his name every day and searching the neighbourhood, there was no sign of him.
“We even wondered if someone had taken him or if he had been attacked by a dog because there were dogs around the area,” she explained.
The exact date of Jerry’s disappearance remains unclear due to the long time that had passed.
The owner further shared the incredible moment she reunited with Jerry.
“When I first saw him walking toward our table, I said, ‘Why does your face look like my cat?’ Then I noticed his slightly bent tail, and I knew it was him,” she recounted.
Calling out Jerry’s name, she was overcome with emotion when the cat immediately recognised her and her family.
Jerry had no owner but was a regular at an eatery area for 2 years
Jerry had survived as a stray cat for two years, relying on food scraps near the eatery where he was found.
The shop owner confirmed that Jerry had no owner but was a regular in the area.
“I even showed his photo to people around the area, and many said they recognised him and often saw him there,” she added.
After bringing Jerry home, the family ensured he was well-fed and cared for, finally giving him the comfort and safety he had been missing for years.
The owner expressed her gratitude to those who might have fed Jerry during his time as a stray.
‘Every meeting and separation with a beloved pet is only known by God’

“Thank you so much to everyone who helped Jerry by giving him food. May you be blessed with abundance,” she said sincerely.
For others who have lost their pets, she offered heartfelt advice:
“I pray that everyone who has lost their pet will one day be reunited with them. I hope you protect your pets from hunger and hardships because every meeting and separation with a beloved pet is only known by God.
And if you see a stray pet, please give them some food, even if it’s just a little, because they could be a lost pet who had an owner but lost their way.”
