M’sian Woman Rescues Cat With Skull & Jaw Fractures, Says She Couldn’t Leave Him To Die

When everyone else passed by, she stopped.
A Malaysian woman has stepped up in a moment of compassion after finding a severely injured stray cat lying helplessly on the road following a hit and run near her neighbourhood.

Speaking exclusively to WeirdKaya, Tinneswari Singara Velo said she discovered the cat on 7 November at around 11.30am. He was motionless on the street with blood pooling around his head. She named him Milky.

According to her, Milky had suffered multiple traumatic injuries. A molar dislodged during the impact punctured his left eye, which later became infected. His skull and jaw were also fractured.

Milky eventually lost vision in both eyes as a result of the injuries.

He was immediately rushed for emergency treatment and has been hospitalised since the day he was found.

Milky underwent a complex surgery at Wisma Pet Universe, Starlight Veterinary Hospital, on 3 December between 12pm and 3 p.m.

The procedures included removal of his left eye, extraction of his upper canine, installation of an ET tube for assisted feeding and minor jaw correction.

The woman said Milky is still receiving post surgery treatment and remains under close monitoring.

“According to the doctor, he will need at least two months of intensive care. He is still very skinny and has low muscle mass, so they need to observe him longer,” she said.

Costs have now exceeded RM11k & continue to increase

As of 1 December, Milky’s medical bills had reached RM11,190.78. This amount consisted of RM8,265.78 in treatment and an additional RM2,925 for surgery.

The rescuer previously received RM4,000 in donations from kind individuals across Instagram, Threads and Facebook, but support began slowing down as Milky’s treatment period extended.

The hospital has informed her that due to past abandoned cases, they are unable to allow flexible payment arrangements. She was instead asked to pay RM1,000 every week to continue Milky’s care.

“As of now, we still need RM4.5k to cover his current treatment costs. This does not include his dietary food which he needs due to his condition,” she shared.

The rescuer is currently seeking help from the public and animal welfare groups to manage Milky’s rising medical costs.

“I could not leave him to die”

Despite the financial strain and the long road ahead, the woman said she never once considered walking away from Milky when she found him bleeding and unable to move.

“I saw him lying there alone. I could not leave him to die,” she said.

She added that she hopes Milky will eventually grow strong enough to live a safe and comfortable life, even though he can no longer see.

We are committed to giving him a chance. He has been through so much and he is still fighting.”
