M’sian Woman Repeatedly Asks Clinic Doctor To “Adjust” RM50 Bill To RM350 So She Could Claim From Company

Not once, but twice.
A Malaysian doctor recently shared a bizarre encounter with a patient who kept trying to inflate her clinic bill in order to make bigger insurance claims.

Patient asked to change RM50 bill into RM350

In a viral Threads post, the doctor said a female patient had only visited the clinic twice and was a cash-paying customer.

Her actual bill was RM50 after consultation, medicine, and an MC. But instead of paying normally, she requested the receipt be issued under her boyfriend’s name.

Not long after, the patient texted the clinic on WhatsApp, asking staff if they could “adjust” the receipt to RM350 so she could make a claim.

When told the system couldn’t be changed, she persisted and begged them to “just adjust the amount” while keeping the original receipt.

The clinic refused, firmly replying:

Sorry, we can’t adjust. The doctor doesn’t do dishonest work.”

Came back next week and tried again

One week later, the same patient returned to the clinic. During consultation, she again tried her luck, asking the doctor directly if the bill could be raised to “around RM300 plus when her actual bill that day was only RM70.

The doctor rejected her request once more and told her bluntly, “If you do this, you’re ‘eating’ haram money. Aren’t you scared?”

The patient reportedly just gave a forced smile before paying and glaring at the staff as she grabbed her medication.

‘Honesty is non-negotiable’

In his post, the doctor made it clear that his clinic operates with integrity.

“All transactions must be honest, only then will it be blessed,” he wrote, adding that the woman should “try another clinic” if she wanted fake receipts.

Many netizens who saw the post were shocked at how comfortable some people were with making dishonest claims.
