M’sian Woman Pays Just RM3 For Teeth Scaling At Govt Clinic After Reinstalling MySejahtera, Here’s How

MySejahtera isn’t just for vaccines anymore, bestie.
Dental care can get expensive, especially without company-provided benefits.

But one Malaysian woman recently shared how she got her teeth cleaned at a government clinic for just RM3 and yes, that includes the consultation!

Taking to Threads, she explained that her workplace doesn’t offer dental coverage, so she decided to give the government dental clinic a try.

All it took was reinstalling the MySejahtera app and making an appointment. The result? A quick, professional service that cost her RM2 for scaling and RM1 for new registration, totalling just RM3.

“The service was fast; done in under an hour and they even gave out some free gifts. Everyone was really professional and efficient,” she wrote.

She also shared that she previously paid RM150 for the same scaling procedure at a private clinic. So naturally, this public healthcare option was a huge win for her wallet.

She visited Klinik Pergigian Seri Kembangan, though similar services are likely available at other government dental clinics too.

Need fillings? Here’s what you should know

After the scaling, the dentist informed her that three teeth needed fillings.

Curious, she asked if she could get all three done in one appointment.

But the dentist explained that since the cavities were in different quadrants of the mouth, each required a separate booking.

“So now I have to book three more appointments,” she said.

All appointments and payments are made through MySejahtera, and even if it’s just RM1, the payment is cashless; you need to tap your card.”

She noted that the earliest appointment she could get was a week after booking. She made her booking on Thursday and had her scaling done the following Friday.

Interestingly, even though the dentist spotted cavities, they still proceeded with only the cleaning during her session. This might be why the appointments run so smoothly and quickly.

      “Malaysians are so lucky”

The post quickly sparked a wave of relatable reactions online. Many praised the affordability of government dental care:

“A doctor once asked if I was okay with filling another tooth; it’d cost a bit more. I said, sure! RM1 or RM2 only, cheaper than kuih.”

“I did scaling too. Saved over RM100. If you’re consistent with checkups, this is a great option.”

“I reinstalled MySejahtera just for this. My income tax finally feels worth it.”

“Honestly, Malaysians are so lucky. I’m in Australia now, and dental stuff here is ridiculously expensive.”

“My whole family goes to government clinics now. My husband used to pay almost RM200 to remove a wisdom tooth. I paid less than RM10 recently for everything.”

Some netizens also highlighted the pros and cons of government healthcare:

“Government clinics are still the best. Whether it’s for teeth, health clinics, or hospitals. Private is all business these days. Only thing is, you need to be patient with the wait time, and the facilities aren’t always the most comfortable.”

Thinking of giving it a try? Just make sure to book your appointment via MySejahtera no walk-ins are allowed. And don’t forget your debit or credit card even if it’s just RM1, it’s all cashless now.
