A woman has been reported missing for three days after getting separated from her husband while shopping at MyTown in Cheras.
Following her disappearance, family members have pleaded with the public for their help in finding her as she suffers from mental health issues.
Went on separate ways during shopping outing
Speaking to The Rakyat Post, Meng, the brother of Elaine Cheng said she and her husband went shopping together on July 12 when they decided to browse separately.
Elaine’s husband assumed she had returned home as she wasn’t carrying her phone, so he didn’t sense something was amiss.

“When my brother-in-law returned home, he found that Elaine wasn’t there. He thought she might have returned to her parents’ home, so he did not communicate with the family to confirm,” explained Meng.
Meng said Elaine suffers from depression and currently is on medication to help keep her emotions under control, adding her condition may have led her to behave abnormally due to stress in recent times.
Last seen at hospital
Elaine’s family weren’t notified of her whereabouts until her photo appeared on social media on July 13, where it showed her lying on a sofa at the lobby of Hospital Tunku Azizah.

According to the caption, Elaine was described as being in a “blurred” state and “not in her normal self” but was given food and drink by hospital staff.
When her family went to the hospital at 9pm that night, Elaine had already left. They were also unable to obtain further info as the day shift nurses had changed shifts.
They also checked nearby MRT stations and the Kuala Lumpur General Hospital to search the patient list, but found no leads.
Elaine’s family plans to lodge a police report and have sought the help of “Uncle Kentang”, also known as Chee Heng Kuan, for help.
Those with information on Elaine’s location are urged to contact Meng at 019-3796465 or Uncle Kentang’s hotline at 018-268 3999.
