Losing jewellery is stressful. But losing a gold bracelet worth around RM40,000 is another level itself.
That was the reality for a Malaysian woman who only realised her 33g gold bracelet was missing about 13 hours after it slipped off her wrist.
Fortunately, what could have been a painful loss turned into an unexpected stroke of luck.
Realised it was gone the next morning
In a now-viral Threads post by @Syahhidoo, the woman’s child shared photos and a video of the bracelet lying among dry leaves and small branches by the roadside.
According to the post, the bracelet is believed to have fallen off when the mother accompanied her child to a clinic in Kuala Terengganu that afternoon.
However, she only noticed it was missing at dawn the following day.

It had been roughly 13 hours before the family even realised it was gone.
Instead of accepting the loss, the family decided to retrace their steps immediately after morning prayers.
The daughter explained that while they were not calm about the situation, they did not want to simply give up.
When we found out it was missing, we were not exactly accepting it just like that. We are not well-off, so we tried searching the places we went to that day.”
The bracelet was eventually found tucked between dried leaves and twigs along the roadside, still intact and untouched.
Netizens relieved
The post quickly drew attention, with many netizens expressing relief that the bracelet had not been taken despite being left outdoors for hours.
Some pointed out that based on current gold prices, a 33g bracelet could be worth around RM40,000.
Others shared their own experiences of losing gold jewellery, with some admitting they were not as fortunate.
