Storms are a no doubt a scary natural phenomenon, where its sheer strength and speed can tear off building parts and even send people flying off their feet.
Unfortunately for one woman in Johor, she lost her life to a storm after one struck a school building and tore its roof off, which eventually landed on her house.

Kosmo reported that a freak storm struck a primary school named SMJK Seg Hwa located at Kampung Tahang Rimau in Segamat, Johor at 7.41pm.
As a result of the storm, the roof tore off and flew away, where it later landed on top of 55-year-old V. Mahadevi’s kitchen, where it caused the roof of the house to collapse and crush her to death.
Segamat fire and rescue department operations director Abd Rahim Rahmat said in a statement that a team of five personnel and two vehicles rushed to the scene upon receiving an emergency call.
“When the operations team arrived at the scene, it was confirmed that the school roof, measuring 5400 square feet, had collapsed due to the wind and had struck a neighboring house.
“A female adult victim had been rescued by members of the public before the arrival of the operations team. The victim was pronounced dead by a medical officer from the Ministry of Health,” he said.
Abd Rahim said the victim’s body was later handed over to police for further action.
Other buildings also affected
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Segamat civil defence force (APM) told the Malay daily that the roof structure of another school named SMKA Segamat was also affected by the storm.
He added that the worst hit area was Sungai Segamat, involving 20 families from Kampung Tahang Rimau, Kampung Jawa, and Kampung Tengah.
Another 15 residences located in Gemereh and Pogoh were also damaged, along with and several business stalls.
