A woman and her three children are living in tremendous fear due to constant harassment by loan sharks whom her live-in boyfriend owed money too.
This comes after her boyfriend used her house address to borrow money from 15 ‘Ah Longs’, only to vanish when they came demanding repayment.
Had help BF repay debts in the past
Speaking at a press conference to shed more details about the incident, the woman surnamed Liu (transliteration) said she and her boyfriend Chen Weihong (also transliteration) had lived with her parents in Bandar Mahkota Cheras for years.

They also share three children together aged 7 and 12, although they aren’t a legally married couple for the time being.
Liu also revealed that this isn’t the first time Chen had run into trouble with loan sharks, where he previously RM60,000 in 2023, leading to her family raising funds to repay it.
This time around, Chen reportedly borrowed approximately RM53,000 and absconded, leaving Liu and her family to deal with the loan sharks’ wrath.
A confession
Liu said Chen didn’t have a gambling habit and often claimed he borrowed money to cover living expenses and repay his friends. She added Chen worked in sales, has an unstable income, and had declared bankruptcy.

“Before the harassment began, I noticed he was troubled, and he eventually confessed to me that he had borrowed around RM50,000 from 15 loan sharks.
“He couldn’t repay the earlier loans and kept borrowing to cover old debts until it reached 15 different lenders,” she explained.
Harassed with messages, red paint, and bricks
Liu said ever since Chen’s disappearance, she has found herself being bombarded with numerous WhatsApp messages from the loan sharks.
On top of that, the loan sharks also have obtained the ICs of her entire family, including her children’s, which Liu believes was given to them by Chen.

Things took a turn for the worse on June 24 when the loan sharks turned up at her home and shook the gates while her mother and kids were around.
“My mother told them Chen wasn’t home and they got angry and threw a brick into the house. I rushed home from work and called the police. After that, I kept receiving messages, where the police advised me to block those contacts.”
Three days later, the loan sharks turned up again and threw red paint into Liu’s home, leaving a mess behind and traumitising her family.

‘Leave us alone!’
Liu’s father, who was also present at the press conference, expressed his disappointment to see Chen misusing the house address to borrow from loan sharks.
He added that he fears the house may be burnt down now that the loan sharks have already resorted to throwing bricks and red paint at it.
“We never borrowed the money and we have already helped him once. This time, we simply cannot afford to do it again,” he said.

As for Liu, she publicly announced she’s breaking up with Chen and called upon the loan sharks to stop harassing her family.
She added she also submitted CCTV footage of her home being pelted with bricks and red paint to the police.
