A woman recently took to social media to recount how her idyllic romance with her fiancé fell apart due to his wandering eyes and even “thanked” him for doing so.

In an anonymous posting on XUAN’s Facebook page, the OP wrote that she first met her partner in university and quickly fell in love with his quiet personality as she believed such man were “the loyal ones”.
After graduating from university, she and her partner moved to KL for work, where they shared every bit of their lives with each other, leading her to think their relationship was rock solid.
Little did she know that his handphone would play a role in marking the beginning of the end of their romance.
Found incriminating messages
The OP wrote that one night, her partner’s handphone buzzed incessantly and she proceeded to see his text messages to his friends.
When she did, she was shocked to find texts concerning junior girls from their university campus and sexual banter. She also found several photos being exchanged within the group too.
Upon being confronted, her partner merely shrugged it off and said, “It’s normal for guys to do this.”
Days later, she came across text messages that were sent to other girls but her partner denied the accusations and claimed it wasn’t him who sent them.
Although the OP admitted that a part of her was devastated, she said she bought her partner’s explanation as she found it hard to give up on the relationship and believed it wasn’t the real him.
The marriage proposal that ended it all
Following the incident, the OP went on a trip to Iceland with her partner and his family, where she had the time of her life.
Upon returning home, her partner fell to one knee and popped the million-dollar question: “Will you marry me?”
“At that moment, I didn’t have the courage to say no and I wasn’t willing to see the years we spent together go to waste as I kept telling myself that he would change one day,” she wrote.
Sadly, the unthinkable happened in the form of her fiancé cheating on her six months after the proposal.
“The girl he cheated with knew he had a fiancée, but still chose to get involved. She even said: ‘It’s okay that we got caught. Let’s just lay low for now and we can go public on our relationship when things calm down.’
“At that moment, I finally woke up. It wasn’t that I wasn’t good enough—he simply wasn’t the person I thought he was,” she wrote.
Following that, the OP promptly broke up with her fiancé and said she now lives a much better life without him around.
She also expressed gratitude to her fiancé’s disloyalty as it saved her from further heartbreak.
If you didn’t cheat, I might’ve continued to waste my life, thinking whatever you did was just a habit or love.
“Thank you for cheating on me. Because of it, I’ve finally woken up (to reality).”
