For some, having a dog is more than just keeping a pet, but it’s also a good companion to spend time with and lift one’s spirits especially during bad days.
However, it goes without saying that while having a pet dog is no doubt a wonderful thing, owners have the responsibility to ensure their pet isn’t a nuisance to their neighbours.

Woman puzzled by warning letter
According to a report by Sin Chew Daily, a dog owner recently took to social media to express her confusion over a warning letter she received from the Kluang Municipal Council (MPK).
Based on the warning letter, her offense was that she had kept a dog at her home without permission and was given 14 days to resolve the issue.
To further add on to the already puzzling situation, the explanation given by the MPK officer left the dog owner scratching her head all the more.

I’ve been a dog owner for five years, and no one has ever complained about it. But the MPK officer told me that I have to ask for my neighbours’ permission before having a pet dog.
“I’m the only one that has a dog inside the house. If my neighbours object to it, what should I do?” she asked in the caption.
Reactions
The incident has since sparked divided reactions from netizens, who gave differing opinions over it.
Some felt it was ridiculous, with one asking whether he should give his signature as a form of permission if his neighbour’s home caused a ruckus following the birth of a child.

However, some said it wasn’t nothing unusual, with a netizen recounting how he and several neighbours gave their signature when a resident asked for permission to rear dogs.

Meanwhile, some accused MPK of harassing dog owners as a way of deflecting criticism over its inability to control the stray dog population within Kluang.
