M’sian Woman Gets Divorced By Ex-Husband During TikTok Livestream In Front Of 3,000 Viewers

Yikes.
Divorce is usually an unpleasant event where a married couple decides to go on their separate ways. However, most would carry out divorce proceedings behind closed doors so as to not air their marital woes in public.

A woman was left feeling blindsided and shocked after her husband decided to call it quits on their marriage while she was conducting a TikTok livestream event, a move which brought a great deal of embarrassment.

She added that she even left her job as a local authority enforcement officer to be closer to her husband and family.

Alas, her efforts weren’t enough to keep the marriage intact as her husband decided to seek the arms of another woman, whom he married in secret three months ago and is believed to be from Thailand, according to Nur Hazwani.

On that fateful day last Wednesday (Jul 24), Nur Hazwani said she was conducting a TikTok livestream when her husband dropped a bombshell on her by pronouncing the ‘talak satu’, effectively bringing their marriage to an end.

“During the livestream, my husband turned up and began scolding me. We argued, and amidst the provocation, he pronounced the talak.

“At first, I tried to accept the ‘co-wife,’ but their constant mocking and provocation made it difficult. My husband also seemed to love his second wife more than me, causing my feelings for him to sour,” she told the English daily.

To make matters worse, the divorce was done in the presence of 3,000 viewers who were watching the livestream, causing the clip to go viral.

Down but not out

Despite the humiliating incident, Nur Hazwani, who now runs an online cosmetics business, said she has firmly put in behind her and only wants to look ahead.

Even though I was divorced in front of 3,000 live viewers, I accept it and am determined to move forward with my children.

“For me, the divorce was a blessing in disguise as it caused my customer base to grow and now I have gained more recognition.

“People can say what they want, but they haven’t experienced what I went through. I hope the public will pray for good things for me and my children,” she said.
