While dogs make good companions for many people, those who practice the Islamic faith are forbidden from having direct contact with them due to their religious beliefs.
For this young Malay woman, she was able to fulfil her dream of petting dogs thanks to a thoughtful gesture by the canines’ owner.
Given plastic bags by dog owner
In a TikTok video shared by @kyraaaafiz, it showed her petting and interacting with a Golden Retriever while wearing a pair of plastic bags which acted as gloves and were given to her by the owner.
Throughout her interaction with the dogs, the owner is seen sitting nearby while keeping a close eye.
Another Malay woman then approaches the dog owner and asks for some plastic bags so that she could pet the dogs, which the owner gladly provided.
Aside from giving out plastic bags to Muslim onlookers, the owner also takes the time to assure a young boy that there was nothing to fear in petting the Golden Retriever.
Her first time touching dogs
In a brief conversation with WeirdKaya, the OP said the video was taken at Genting Highlands, which was near her place of work.
She added that she had never petted a dog before and was extremely excited when the dog owner asked her if she wanted to pet his dogs.
“Most importantly, he was thoughtful enough to hand me plastic bags so that I could touch the dogs as Muslims aren’t allowed to pet them directly,” she said.
