A 34-year-old Malaysian woman who was reported missing on the first day of Chinese New Year has been found dead at a beach in Kuala Selangor.
The victim was Yong Jia Yein, whose disappearance triggered a nationwide search for her whereabouts after she went missing on Jan 29.

According to reports by China Press and Sin Chew Daily, Yong’s body was found at Pantai Remis in Jeram at 7am today, which was 50km away from the place she was last seen.

It was later confirmed by Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof, who said Yong’s family has been informed of her demise.
An official statement is expected to be released by police soon.
It was previously reported that Yong left her home in Petaling Jaya on Jan 29 and failed to return, prompting her family to lodge a police report on Jan 31.
She was last seen driving a blue Proton Iswara from the Pelangi Utama Condominium on the day she vanished.
