Desperate to keep her financial woes under the wraps from her parents, a Malaysian woman resorted to applying for a loan via an online advertisement.
However, it soon marked the beginning of her nightmare, where she found herself subjected to mental anguish and was even coerced into taking naked photos of herself.
Applied for loan after losing job & car
Speaking to reporters at Wisma MCA today (May 13), the woman surnamed Koh said she employed as a secretary at a company in Kuala Lumpur.
Unfortunately, she lost her job and found herself unable to make car loan payments for five straight months, leading to her vehicle being repossessed by the bank, reported China Press.

Not wanting her parents to discover her financial difficulties and with no options left, Koh said she turned to a loan advertisement she saw on social media and reached out to a group of loan sharks to borrow RM3,000.
But that was only the tip of the iceberg.
M’sian woman forced to send her nude photos
After reaching out to the loan sharks via WhatsApp, Koh said she was asked to fill out her personal information and pay an upfront fee of RM1,000.
“At first, I didn’t understand why I had to pay in order to borrow money, but the man claimed it was the only way to secure the loan. I then borrowed money from friends and transferred RM1,000 to him in two separate transactions.

“The loan shark then said the payment had to be made in one lump sum, meaning my previous RM1,000 payment didn’t count. But I didn’t have any money at the time, and that’s when he asked me to send nude photos,” she recounted.
Out of desperation, Koh sent a nude photo of her upper-body nude photo, but that didn’t satiate the loan shark, who demanded a full nude photo of her.
When she complied to the request, the loan shark asked for the RM1,000 service fee to be paid again, which Koh had a friend pay on her behalf.
The loan shark then asked me to issue a lawyer’s letter and pay an additional RM1,500 in related costs. At that point, I said I didn’t want the loan anymore, prompting him to demand RM1,800 in cancellation fees.

“When I decided to stop responding, the loan sharks began harassing my by not only informing my parents about the loan but also threatened to release my nude photos unless I paid the cancellation fee,” she said.
Fearing for her own safety following unrelenting threats and harassment, Koh has since lodged a police report at the Brickfields police station, reported NST.
