If you think you’ve got travel woes, wait till you hear about this Malaysian woman whose passport got “sabotaged” by her own cat.
Cat pee vs. passport
In a viral post, she shared that her cat urinated on her passport just 10 days before her next trip.
She suspected the cat might have been holding a grudge after being left alone during her previous holiday.
Unfortunately, the urine left several pages soaked even though she had placed the passport neatly on a table.
Panicking, she wondered if she could still travel, since most of the passport was intact but visibly stained.

Tried her luck at immigration
Two weeks before flying, she visited immigration officers to ask if her passport was still valid.
At first, she fibbed and said the damage was caused by water. The officer warned that even if she managed to fly out, she might face problems re-entering Malaysia.
She was then told to file an official report, which also came with a penalty fee.
Finally admitted the truth
When she met with an officer at the Jalan Duta HQ, she confessed sheepishly that the real culprit was her cat.
I admitted my kitten peed on it. The officer laughed,” she wrote, adding that her friend even tried ironing the passport to salvage it earlier.
Despite the unusual reason, the officers were surprisingly understanding and even sporting about it.
Replacement process
She was fined RM400 and told to wait about five working days for her new passport.
The woman also reminded fellow Malaysians to always check their passports well in advance before travelling:
“Don’t take it lightly. Make sure your passport is in good condition before you fly.”
