A Malaysian woman was left both confused and amused after discovering something unexpected in her husband’s bag.
Not his phone. Not his wallet.
An eggplant.
She checked his bag and found something strange
In a now viral post, the woman shared that her husband had gone for Friday prayers with their child but accidentally left his bag behind at home.
Since she described him as someone who can be quite forgetful, she decided to check inside to see if he had left anything important.
Instead, she found a terung inside the bag.
I found an eggplant in his bag,” she wrote, adding that she immediately started overthinking.
Half joking, half serious, she even questioned whether her husband might be gay, saying she was spiralling with thoughts.
Husband laughed before explaining
When she confronted him about it, her husband reportedly laughed first.
In her follow up, she said he explained that he had found the eggplant at his shop and picked it up to throw it away. However, the rubbish bin was some distance away at the time, so he temporarily placed it inside his bag while cleaning.
He then forgot about it completely.
I swear I forgot about the eggplant. My backside is still a virgin, you know,”he joked, reassuring her in a dramatic and humorous way.
The wife said she ended up laughing nonstop at his reaction and playful response.
Netizens were not fully convinced
While the couple seemed to treat it as a funny misunderstanding, netizens had mixed reactions.
Some joked that maybe he bought it to cook terung balado. Others teased her, saying she should not dismiss the situation so quickly.
“Who’s going to tell her…” one commenter wrote.
“Do you actually believe that?” another asked.
Several even suggested a “test.”
“Just cook the eggplant and see if he eats it,” one person commented.
Another said if he willingly eats it, then maybe his story is true.
Others, however, found the explanation suspicious.
“Who keeps rubbish in their bag, especially an eggplant?” one comment read.
Overthinking or just a funny moment?
In the end, the wife herself appeared more entertained than worried, sharing that she could not stop laughing at her husband’s dramatic defense.
