Port Dickson district police chief, Superintendent Maslan Udin said in a statement that the Myvi was heading towards Lukut prior to the accident.
Preliminary investigations found that the right rear door of the Perodua Myvi suddenly flung open while it was navigating a bend, causing the victim to fall out from the vehicle.

“She was then struck by an oncoming oil tanker lorry, causing her to suffer severe head injuries and die on the spot.
“As for her husband, who was driving the Myvi, and their five-month-old baby seated in the front using a child safety seat, were unharmed,” he said as reported by Sinar Harian.
Maslan added the oil tanker lorry driver was also unhurt in the accident and tested negative for drugs following a urine test.

Dashcam footage from the oil tanker lorry have since been obtained by police to assist in the investigation and the case is being probed under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Maslan also called upon the public to always ensure their vehicle doors are securely locked, especially when carrying passengers to prevent such incidents from recurring.
