M’sian Woman Earning RM3K A Month Refuses To Quit Her Job Even Though Husband Earns RM10K

“I don’t see the need to change jobs”
To one woman, job loyalty, peace of mind, and a healthy environment are worth more than chasing a bigger pay cheque—no matter what her husband says.

That’s exactly why this woman, despite earning RM3,700 a month, refuses to leave the company she’s served for 12 years even when her husband, who earns nearly triple her pay, keeps pushing her to switch jobs.

‘Why is your salary still so low?’

In a heartfelt post on social media, the woman shared how her husband often compares her pay to her experience.

My husband always says my net pay is too low, only RM3,700 even though I’ve been with the same company for 12 years. He keeps telling me to find another job,”

But for her, money isn’t everything. She explained that her current workplace offers something even more valuable—comfort and emotional safety.

According to Mstar, she revealed that she works at a small company with only 10 employees, and over the years, their bond has grown stronger.

They even go on annual holidays together with their families. According to her, the working environment is peaceful, with no toxic culture or internal politics.

Her boss also trusts her deeply, and she’s considered one of the key members in the company.

Never relied on her husband’s money

Even though she earns far less than her husband, she manages most of her personal and children’s expenses on her own—from school fees and tuition to petrol and tolls.

I never asked my husband for money. If I ever did, maybe only three or four times a year,”

She added that the most she’s ever asked for in a year is RM100, highlighting how financially independent she is despite earning less.

Household expenses are split fairly

Her husband, who earns RM10,000 monthly, covers all major household commitments—such as bills, mortgage, internet, the children’s insurance, and the car he uses.

He also pays for most of the groceries and covers all dining-out expenses, while she contributes about 20% for groceries.

‘I don’t see the need to change jobs’

With a balanced life at home and a non-toxic work environment, the woman feels there’s no strong reason to look for a new job.

However, the pressure from her husband to move on still lingers.

I honestly don’t think there’s a need for me to find a new job, but my husband keeps bringing it up. I’m torn, because starting over somewhere else would be very difficult,” she said.
